How do QR payments work at Bitso?
Can I scan any QR code?
You can scan any code that’s compatible with the interoperable system “Transferencias 3.0”. So if the store or merchant has a QR code that is interoperable, you’re good to go. Notice that the store doesn’t need to have a Bitso account to receive the payment. Will the store receive crypto or ARS?
The store or merchant will always receive in ARS, whether you paid in fiat or crypto. They also don’t need to have a Bitso account to receive it.
Can I pay using my crypto balance?
Yes, you can use your crypto balance to pay to any merchant. The currencies available to pay are BTC, ETH, USD or DAI. Bitso will convert the crypto to ARS automatically and send the ARS value to the merchant. A 1% conversion fee applies for Argentinian users and a 3% conversion fee for non-Argentinian users when paying with crypto. If you are non-Argentinian, you can only pay with crypto and you won’t be able to make purchases directly in ARS.
Can I use QR Payments in any country?
Unfortunately, you can only use QR payments in Argentina. It’s important to note that QR payments will work even if you’re from a different country and you’re traveling to Argentina - you just need to have USD stablecoins, BTC, ETH, or Dai to make a payment.
